I'm a power speed junky. I want it there when I feel the need for speed. Otherwise, the 80" has been great to get me to work and local rides. Now that the speed limits are higher, so should my horses!

Your stock starter might be ok, if not a after market one. I use a terry components 1.8 kw.

If you wait till it dies it will probably have 300k or so miles. By then you will probably want a 150 or bigger.

Use the Stock H-D starter

We recommend using the Stock H-D starter, and make sure you use a chassis ground and a ground wire that is connected directly to the starter.

You should not have issues with that combination with a 124"

Thanks,

You folks at S&S must have telepathy! I was going to call you today but got crazy busy at work! I will be calling for some other ideas for the complete project. I have decided to keep the 80" as it is because it is for the most part, all original. @lonslo, your right, I plan to max out this ride to see if I can keep it alive for that many miles and more! Right now, 89,000 and running strong.

Thanks Merc63. I think I will be starting from scratch so I will be considering all options that will be the best for what I have planned.

I think I'm done considering. If the 80" gives up, I'm going with a 96" and putting the 124" in set up that will handle the power. More than likely a pro street.
