Sportster - blank slate to chop

I have ridden an 91 Sportster for the past 10 years. It's a stock 883. Now I have another bike, so the sporty is a blank slate just waiting to be played with. Serious oil leaks (still runs like a champ tho) mean I need to pull the engine apart anyway, so why not chop her up?

ONly problem is I have a poor eye for what to do.

So my question is, if you had a blank slate to do what you wanted with a stock 91 sportster, what would you do? Budget is an issue, but I'll have some cash to throw at it . . .

All I know is I like an old look and I kinda like the big fat front tires, but don't know why.
