Skinny front tire?

Am up in the air about which rim / tire combo I want to run with on my Durfee Girder front end.

I've never ridden a bike with a skinny tire but really dig the look. The rim I like is made by Chica, but it's only made in 21x1.75 is what I believe he told me...

After doing a search on VTF, it seems like there are nothing but negative comments when it comes to skinny front tires (very little contact patch, issues with the front end sliding out in a turn, grooves, etc, etc)

I think the skinny front tire would look really cool with the Durfee Girder front end I'm getting for my rebuild...

Anybody with experience have any positive aspects with running a skinny tire up front?

My softail isn't going to have an extended front end, it'll remain level and low. Not sure what you would call the look I'm going for. Gasser or something?

My chopper has that exact size front tire. I love it. No issues what so ever.

I replaced my 19" with a 21" on my Dyna and run an 80/90-21 tire. No issues. Just rode it from PA to Laconia, NH and back in the rain and had no ill effects or things that bothered me.

Here's a bike made by Guilty Customs with a Durfee Narrow Girder front end and skinny tire.

My whole intent is to make the bike look entirely different than a Heritage Classic. Been riding it that since 2001, looking for something out of the ordinary!
