Ultra Intimidator 300 w/ 113 S&S
Howdy.
I am looking at picking up a 2007 Intimidator with a 113 S&S engine. The bike is a new 2007 still at the dealership.
I can't find much in the way of reviews on the 113. Anyone have any opinions on them?

I don't think a 2yr old new bike(unless it's a Harley) is a good investment.Sorry!!!Why not look at a 2009 Harley????

a 06 HD new would be a great buy. as far as investment, no new automobile is an investment-----unless a bad one. value? yes a new automobile that is a few years old has always been a great value. it values at 100% retail, but you purchase at a much lower price, so depreciated value equals what you pay, or you pay even less than current value. no loss! full warranty, and banks will lend 120% (with good credit).
in case of HD, the last good year is 06. choppers are over man, so there is no value there unless you are buying to keep.

don't know about the S&S 113, but I do know that if you want the bike, and the price is good, you should go ahead. I built my first chopper back in '72, and I have one today (along with my RG). Choppers may be "out" for the "in crowd," but I generally don't make my purchases based upon what others think. enjoy!

I have to be honest, the new Harleys just arent doing it for me.
I plan to get my Shovel out and ride it a bit now and again but am actually looking for a Custom Chopper.
I am not looking for investment, just what I like and can afford.
The closest thing for me in the harley line-up is the rocker..... But I feel like I am sitting on an old 10-speed when I ride it.
I dont see much reason to buy a new rocker than spend a butt-load of money on it to make a chopper when I can just buy one already done for less.
This is actually a pic of the exact bike I am looking at:

Nice lookin' bike. I also don't know much about the Ultras, but I would try to make sure they actually make a reliable bike. I see a lot of comments by folks who have purchased other nameplates, and they end up with one problem after another. Anyway, good luck on your decision and bike!! And enjoy!!

Yes, dependability is a major factor for me, that's why I was askin around in here about the 113.
I havent been able to get a lot of reviews on the Ultras. I may just build my own custom. At least that wasy I know what I am getting and can only blame ME if something goes wrong. =)
Thanks for the advice and opinions.

Which chopper would that be? The Thunder Mountain bikes?
I hadn't heard of it if it isn't them.
And those are double the money as much as I love them....

If the motor is an S&S top to bottom, then I would guess it's the best hardware on the bike. Do they have the paperwork for the motor?
