revtech 110 low oil light

I need some help from one of you on here. I have a brand new chopper that I built and put a 110" revtech in it. I have a dakota digital dash that has a low oil indicator message.

When I start the motor the low oil message goes away. The bike runs good, although it idles a bit low (i'm working on that). The bike runs well while riding. After a significant run, if I come to a stop sign or light the low oil indicator comes on. It will flash on and off as I come to a stop or at really low rpms. This only seems to happen when the motor is hot.

There is enough oil in the oil tank. The oil lines are routed properly (to their correct location, no kinks,3/8" hoses). I do not have any breather hooked up as of now. The oil tank is not vented to atmosphere. The oil level is below both the vent and return nipples. The oil feed to the motor is located at the lowest point of the oil tank.

Any ideas? Thanks.

it is quite normal for that motor, when hot and in idle, to only be making 5 - 10 pounds on an oil pr guage. That is why you are getting the flickering light on the Dakota Dig.

idle

Probably a good idea to get that idle up a bit and all will be good.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I'll get the idle up a bit. I did, however, find that all of the oil line fittings were 3/8" except for the three in the oil tank which were all 5/16" 1/8npt. Do you guys think it's worth switching them to 3/8"?

Thanks again.
