P&P Girder

Bought a P&P girder.Didn't come with an axle.Has 1/2" axle holes. All the aftermarket stuff and alot of old Harley stuff I've messed with had 5/8" axles.I wonder if it came with with a 5/8" axle that was turned down where threaded part went thru the hole and you had to assemble the legs around it,or something?

Tom:
I run a P&P on my chop, you are correct, the axle that came with them was 5/8ths, with "turned down ends" What I did was have another axle made that is 3/4 so I could run a narrow glide 19 inch mag. Also, you are correct, you have to take one leg off to put the axle in. Do yourself a favor, use a ratchet strap between the two "tubes" that the leg shafts run through, BEFORE you take a leg off. (don't ask me how I know this, I just do) I use one of the shipping straps that come on a new HD, you can get them at the dealer for a couple bucks.
Hope this helps.

p.s., how long is the girder? mine is 6 over.

Thanks for the reply

When there wern't any after a few days I didn't check back any more.
I think I'm just going to drill my axle holes out.
Mine is about 2" over.
