where do I get a salvaged bike??

I want to build my first bobber and am getting a rolling chasis (probably from Carolina Customs) but I need a doner bike to scavage from. An older Sportster would be great. So I've called a couple insurance companies asking where their bikes go that are in a crash and are written off. None of them have a clue - or they're just playing stupid. Either way, I know crashed bikes go somewhere for auction or something, I just can't seem to find anyone who knows where. Any help as to where I should be looking would be appreciated. Thanks.

Go on eBay, they have a store on their that sells only salvaged bikes, some with titles, some without. I am sure you can find something there.

Interesting site. For $25 annually they will bid on your behalf for the bike of your choice. No guarantee of a winning bid, so the odds are questionable. And obviously no chance of physically checking out the bike. Don't know, sounds a little "ify".

Have you used this service? Or has anyone following this thread used this service or a similar one? Thanks.

YaDA

You might want to have a look here. If you don't see what your looking for give them a call. They go through so many crashed bikes here some don't get listed.

Good luck!
