Hi everyone!
i am currently looking at a 200cc Chopper and i was wondering if anyone has knowledge of it being street legal in California. And if you have one/had one, let me know how she rides

I have one of these and they are fun to ride around. They do ride like a brick sh1thouse though. Top speed stock with a 5 speed tranny and 205/40-14 rear tire (closer to a 170/40-14) is around 50 mph. Anyone who takes this thing on a freeway is nuts. you can get a higher top speed with a 160/60-14 or 150/70-14 rear tire but those are the closest sizes you will find on the US market for replacement tires. Some people go with a car tire but I think that's just as nuts. The taller rear tire will also help with the stiff ride and the ground clearance(which is about 4 inches). Also at higher speeds I would suggest replacing the front wheel with a 17" or 19" rim. I'll give ya a hint, look at dirt bike rims. The smaller dirtbikes have the same axle size. The lights are cheap as well as the chain and bearing on the center shaft of the double chain. Replace the chain and bearings before you even try to ride it. They are cheap parts and may save your life. They are neat little bikes but if you have no mechanical ability and a bit of patience then stay away from these bikes. They are now EPA approved for Cali (mine is at least) and able to be registered. My insurance turned out to be about 6 bucks a month on this so it's definitely cheaper. Have fun and good luck

I believe the California required minimum CC's for freeway use is 250.
