Two part question after my bike fires it will idle for about a minute then start to jet foamy oil out of the breather on the carb. I have 3/8" inside diameter oil lines plumbed correctly. So from what I hear my check ball might be wrong. How do I check this? Does that sound correct? Also my kick start doesn't always cycle smoothly, only way to describe it is that sometimes it will be spongy and super hard to cycle. Then sometimes it will feel right. Does this have somthing to do with the oil problem?
IF the check ball is allowing oil to fill the crankcase that may be the reason you have the spongey feeling. Are you using a softail style oil bag?? If the bike sits for a period of time is the oil level in the bag down a fair amount??
It is the typical horseshoe oil bag. Oil level doesn't go down noticeably over time either. Think it is somthing other than a leaky check ball? Its not a little oil dribbleing out it is pumping maybe a quater to a half quart before it stops.
sounds like a restriction in the oil return line to me.

So I am still having problems. Sometimes it still seems to be sumping oil other times not as much. When I look in the oil bag while its running i don't see any movement but a slight dribble of foamie oil coming out of the breather hose. No restrictions in any of the hose, so it seems to my pump or filter? The motor is brand new and I have never taken the oil filter or pump off if that makes any difference.
