Looking for how to

Hi, I have a 85 FXW, it has the original carb, the pre CV type, I have damaged the treads where one of the manifold bolts grabs it and now when the bike warms up its sucking in air ( I think it does), bike starts running rough, and cuts in and out. so i have the carb off the bike, will redo the treads, but was thinking this would be good time to re adjust it, is there any write up on how to do it (ie float level, needle, so on).

Or do you think I may have another issue (not a carb)?

Cheers

Not much you can do with the early keihen. Keep and eye out for later model ,cv type intake, carb ,most any cv air box and cables. Runs better with the cv.

If it ran good before U buggered the threads, I would think that is the problem...(sucking air)...

I agree with hardluk1 swap to a CV. It's a real nice improvement..
