New Mikuni 42 Installation - Won't start : V-Twin Forum: Harley Davidson Forums

I just installed a new Mikuni 42-18 Easy kit on my 1999 Fatboy and I cannot get this baby even close to starting. I used the stock Harley choke with the Mikuni spring and plunger as indicated but no luck. I didn't make any adjustments to the Mikuni, I installed it right out of the box as received. Any suggestions? Thanks.

make sure vacumn lines connected to carb and fuel petcock

I connected the one vacuum line to the Mikuni that was hooked up to the stock carb. The petcock is not a stock Harley one. The bike has custom tanks. But I didn't tamper with anything here.

I did have some issues with the choke installation using the stock Harley choke with the Mikuni spring and plunger. The spring did not seem to fit well. Could this be my problem?
