Question Carby support bracket, where to buy?

Ok need to know where to buy a carby bracket, the one that holds the carby to the manifold with the 2 bolts that screw into the cylinders holding the carby tight.(EVO).

I have one that came with a hypercharger but want to buy a another bracket on its own for a project im working on.

its for a mikuni also.

Just dont know where to look or if you can buy them singlely?

Any help greatly appreciated

Thanks

Yeah but theres bugger all around in Adelaide without getting it specially ordered which ends up costing a million dollars.

I only want the factory type ones that come on the evo carby models,im not interested in breather kits or custom billet brackets or anything.

Cheers

That's aftermarket for sure.

Best bet may be ebay & someone who ships to your area..

Yeah i was hoping it would be factory but sort of thought it wasnt...i would buy the one listed but $29 postage...

I have a friend who does laser cutting so i reckon i mite be able to just design my own & get it cut out of sheet metal prob bout .19" thick & make up my own spacers for the bolts that go into the cylinders get some stainless allen bolts then chrome it...cant be that hard.

I agree, postage is outrageous !!!

If I understood your earlier post, you said this was for a different project, other than the '90 FatBoy w/Mikuni.
But you wanted the support for Mikuni as well.

How about using that bracket just for a template to have a copy made ??

& If UR getting the bracket made, maybe use good stainless & then you polish it.. Never have to worry about rust..

Or you could paint, or powder coat it...............

When you have it installed (If I could suggest) I'd check the intake then for leaks. Wiggling a carb around & clamping down a new support can disturb the intake seals.. I know, I've had to replace some after an up-grade like that..

Hey Buddy,

Went to see my mate today he's cutting my carby bracket design out in the next day or two, getting 3 of them for starters incase i mess up the first one i'l have 2 more to perfect it,getting cut out of mild steel plate he didnt have any stainless thick enough for the job.

Yeah i only know one other guy with a HD but im hoping word of mouth mite help me out...or mite even put 1 on ebay & see how i go.

Only really started this project for my brothers bike cause he wanted a custom air intake & i could make it for a third of the retail price.

What do you mean by :

"Hope plenty of your mates need carby supports, that's how things get started $$....."?

Does that mean its a good idea or a bad idea?

Cheers

It's a good idea !!!

All I meant was that if others see the cool bracket you're having made, maybe they will want to buy one from you, too..

Yeah thats what im hoping

I wasnt trying to be rude or anything to you when i wrote my last reply, just thought id ask because you've obviously had a lot more HD experience than me & i wanted to see what your opinion was before i started trying to do my own thing with custom & one off parts.I appreciate all the help you've given me.

My friend called me today & has cut my parts allready so il head down & pick them up soon & post up a pic/link (before chroming & later with chroming).

Cheers
