42mm Mikuni HSR carbie throttle cable

Ive just received my new 42 mm Mikuni HSR carbie for my 1986 FXSTC.
Ive been running the original H-D carbie for long enough now.Ive got a complete new custom front end on my bike includeing throttle cable to original H-D carbie,
Can anyone tell me is my throttle cable likely to fit the Mikuni carbie and or if it is the original throttle cable ,would it fit onto the new Mikuni Carbie
