Softail Carb & EFI switch - possible?

Let's say I've got two 2002 Softails. They are different bikes/colors/paint jobs, so I am not able to simply swap fuel tanks.

One's got a carb and one's got EFI. I want to switch (i.e., put the EFI on the carburated bike and the carb on the EFI bike).

Is it possible?

Let's say you own bike A and it's got EFI. Let's say you like/want EFI.

You're on Craigslist and you find bike B for a good price. You like bike B better and want to buy it. It's carburated. You plan to sell Bike A once you buy Bike B.

You think, "Well, they're both Softails, so in the short period of time that I own both bikes, I'm going to transfer all of the components that I like best (hand grips, handlebars, seat, lighting, etc.) to the bike that I plan to keep. I'll put the lesser components on the bike that I plan to sell and sell it."

One of the components I would like to keep is EFI. The bike I'm interested in buying is carburated. I know, not a HUGE deal, I was just wondering if it's possible (and I'm guessing the answer is "no").

The answer is yes, with a couple of qualifications. Bedemonster on the forum can fill you in with the specifics. Try sending him a private message.

Not worth the effort. I perfer a carb you perfer efi but trying to get someone to buy a used bike that has been converted is not going to be that easy
