need help identifing carb mods in cv40

I got a cv40 on an EVO in a 93 FXR , the bike ran perfect with supertrapp 2 into 1, changed pipes to V&H short shots, running lean. Took the carb off, 220 main, 48 pilot, what looks to be a stock needle. Went to the local shop to get bigger jets. the guy said the carb is from a 99tc and that it shouldnt run with those jets and he couldnt get me bigger jets, said somebody modified the carb in the past to take the bigger jets.

Does anybody have any idea who did or does this kind of work to a cv40 or what is going on in general with the carb. Like i mentioned the bike ran perfect, it pulls about 85hp on the dyno so the engine isnt stock but not really built.

The mechanics suggestion was to replace all the parts on the inside of the carb back to stock since we dont know what has been changed or modified and start the jetting process over.
