Stock Cv 40

What size hole is in a stock vacuum slide, and what size are they drilled out to when they are modified. I think it is 1/8 th. drilled out. Not sure. I'm going to a swap meet and don't want to pull mine to find out, and no I'm not going to drill mine, it already is. I want to get a stock one. thanks to anyone.

the hole is smaller than 1/8" don't know the actual size.... sorry.
you can use a 1/8" drill bit as a "go" or "no go" gauge.

Since the carb is Japanese, sure it's metric. I don't have any way to measure metric's but one of the old slides I have (bone stock) measures approx .095.

Not sure what size the hole is orignially, but they're drilled out to 1/8" for the slide mod.

You should read up on the drilling of the slide bit before you do it.Search the threads back for awhile and pay attention to Buddy Seat and what he says. The feeling I get is that it was a popular but not so effective modification.

After the hole is drilled and you don't like the results is it possible to fill the hole with epoxy or what ever and redrill the hole to original or are you stuck with buying a new vac slide.

I have used jb weld to fill in the hole and re drill it. My drill index is packed away but it is one size smaller than 0.125 so Ed is about right with .095. take a tap and cut some threads in the hole and then fill with jb weld or soldier works too. smooth it out and redrill works fine.
