blowin oil cap

my cuz just bought a 2000 1200 buel he clams that the bike runs great but just reciently the oil cap blows off almost instantly when he starts it up the oil comes out i gess the compression is around 150 both so mabie the vent? any ideas would help thanks meat

Check the rear shock resivoir worm clamp. People tend to get that clamp on the feed line instead of the fitting. Overfilling the oil tank is probably the most common mistake. I run all of my bikes on the lower mark of the dipstick. This gives the tank a little more air for expansion. This usually helps stand-off. (oil out of the air cleaner when at highway speeds) Have fun.
