As my wife just bought a Night Rod I have to wait. $$$$$ is the issue. 3 Harleys man, be a year ir more for me before I get a Uly but i am geting one.I test rode one and just hammered it during the ride and it is a very responsive bike but I hate the height and the suspension needs work. The front brake is grabby to say the least. But it was nimble in thick traffic.

Go for it, they really are a great bike. Pretty unique in my neck of the woods to, so it really grabs people's attention.

I picked up mine yesterday and all I can say WOW, what a freakin bike. I have never felt so much smooth torque down so low before.

I will have to really try not to abuse it during breakin!

I couldn't get the break in done quick enough. The engine just keeps getting better with more road under it. I wasn't overly gentle, just respectful during the run in.

Consequently the rings got a good seal and oil consumption is minimal.

Ain't it the truth. The more I ride it the more I like it!

Did 150 miles in the keys, two up yesterday. Man this bike makes very short work of long crappy roads. It is almost as comfortable as my recliner at home. Surely the most comfy bike I have ever had.

My wife loves the comfort of our Uly over our Street Rod which has the touring pillion seat and backrest. The bike is light, handles particularly well and is very easy to care for.

Hi there, chiming in about my '06 Long. I decided that the Uly was too tall, not really all that "dirt" capable, and my wife won't get on the back of anything but our E-glide any more. So I saved the $1k and got the Long. The passenger pegs and brackets came off first thing, and the Renthal 742 handlebars fit me MUCH better than the stock ones. They also got rid of the last bit of chrome (well, polished SS).

It has 1200 miles so far, and just gets better all the time. The new frame fits my long legs well, the torque makes me grin, and it has the best stock supension I've ever owned. There's no storage, not even for a pair of shades; I got the accessory tail bag but it is very poorly sewn.

Before you pay for a loud pipe and mapping, check out the dyno charts at American Sport Bike's website, looks like I'll be keeping the stock can.

The differences you'll find:

- the uly is taller
- you can mount hard saddlebages (from Buell or Touratech) to the Uly, but not the SS
- the ratio on the Uly is a bit more friendly for highway cruising
- the SS is shorter

The SS would have been my choice for a highway cruising Buell if it were not for the lack of hard bags and the difference in ratio.

Looks like you made a few changes... Looks good. When you want to mess with the EFI and maybe try a different map let me know. It free for the program to change the fuel injection but you have a to buy a special cable. They range from $30-$75. Then you can play all you want. I know after we did Beans it made a world of difference in around town type riding and overall smoothness.
