XB9R/XB12R Owners?

I have been tossing the idea of purchasing a XB9R or XB12R and was wondering if there is anyone here that owns one, knows someone that owns one, or has test ridden one? What did yoiu think of it? Any complaints? Any likes?

Thanks in advance,

Dan

I guess it kindof depends on what you are looking for (and why), and what your background is (other than your Sporty). I tested the XB9R a few times, and thought it was a great bike. Not sure about the 12, but it should be similar (if faster).

I started riding when I was 6 and grew up mostly around Harleys and cruisers. I have pushed the Sporty to it's maximum limits in handling(which isn't much) with only wanting more. The hp I know I will be able to handle since I am already used to riding a modified 1200cc Sportster. I will probably have to adjust to the nimbleness of the XB12R though.

The Buell seems to awnser all my wants in one bike. I'm looking for a nimble bike that has the torque of the Sportster. On top of that, I like the look of the XB12R.

I'm modifying the Sportster and trying to make it somewhat of a dual purpose machine. One that will do great in the 1/4 while being able to play in the twisties. In order to do this though is going to force me to move away from the look that I'm also trying to get. Thats where the Buell could come into play. It will basically allow me to have my cake and eat it too!

Before I go run out and filling papers though, I curious if there have been any problems with the XB's. The main thing that worries me is how the frame is also the gas tank. is it durable if you go down? does the bike become totalled if the frame is damaged due to a slide? How much does it cost for replacement?

Another curiosity are the new brakes. How well do they actually work? do the rotors warp easily?

I can probably come up with a few more but I think I'm going to leave it at that though.

Thanks,

Dan
