'01 X1 Rear Suspension...

Although I've yet to even aquire my new to me X1, taking delivery early next week; I've already been pondering the thought of either installing a lowering link in the rear suspension or replacing the factory shock with a variant to lower the bike an inch or two. I can't seem to find much out there on the subject. However, I did find a factory recall kit to secure the original shock in the event of failure. I may pick it up if the price is right. Any direction here would be greatly appreciated. Pretty sick of mucking through the mire we call the web. I recall coming across an outfit that offers the lowering links some time ago but have no idea where. I go look!

Found the outfit that manufactures the lowering link but would rather do it with a different length shock if possible. Can't seem to find much out there regarding it. I checka da buell forums...

Unfortunately, this forum is more Harley oriented, Buell enthusiasts, while welcome here, are better served by going to badweatherbikers instead. I think there's a AOL group, and several Yahoo groups too.

Onthe flip side, if more of us Buell freaks posted here, it will pick up

I'm a Blast!ard myself, so can't offer any tech advice for the tubeframe bikes. (but I do love them!)

Have yet to take delivery. Hopefully by wednesday if the weather permits. Will do with the poking around in the BWB. It'll be a strange transition from my old off the chain '99 DX. There's a bike that'd take you further than most would want to go. Just hope the new owner has enough respect for it, so as to not get hurt. Bought a Blas a while back, it's gon now but was fun to squirt around on. Keep the revs up and they're good fun. Amazing brakes but the beauty of this bikes design was it's low weight so it doesn't take much to haul it down from speed. Neat bike but too small for me.
