New Exhaust & Tuning??

Hello-

I just recently purchased a 2003 Buell Blast and am looking to upgrade the exhaust on it to something that sounds a little louder/beefier.. I know with it being a buell there's not much to beef up but i'd like something that doesn't make it sound like a go-cart, pretty much the louder/cooler, the better.. My first question is what exhaust in your opinions do you think is good? I'm looking for something not 'too' expensive, but i'd be willing to spend 200$ish or so..

My second question is, with it being EFI as i believe it is.. What type of tuning, if any do i need to do if and when i decide to switch exhaust?? Is there anything i need to adjust for it, or no??

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Well i cannot help you with all your questions however according to buell's website the Blast has a Carb so i would imagine you could just to a rejet just like a sportster (most likely the same carb too...)

Go to www.badweatherbikers.com
Click yourself into the Thumper forum.
You will find more info on the Blast than you ever wanted to know. There are several very knowledgable guys who frequent that board, and I doubt you will present them with a "new" problem.
Plenty of opinions on exhaust, and good advice on jetting.

The Vance and Hines pipe sounds really good from a bystanders standpoint. Kinda like a real mean dirtbike. Ya probably cant touch that for $200ish tho. Ebay baby

Got my Jardine for the Blast off eBay for just under $200 after shipping. Took it for a test drive right after installation, and scratched it on the lip of the driveway, not three minutes later.
Watch your ground clearance, no matter which one you get!

If you're looking for a little more zip, pick up Buell's Pro-Series intake as well, then re-jet the carb to 45/170. All this info is on www.badweatherbikers.com
