Buell Ulysses

The Delinquents met our fellow delinquent joediver at Ft Washington HD this last weekend.

They had a Buell Ulysses on the showroom floor.

Pretty cool but very tall bikes.

A buddy of mine who has over 400,000 plus miles on harleys bought one as a third bike. Thing looks tall when you are next to it but when follwing it down the road does not look unusually tall or out of proportion. Main thing I notice when following it is how wide that rear tire is. Bike is very quiet and makes alot of power. Guy has had at least one other buel and his HD is a Road Glide.

i wish my local dealer carried Buell... i'd love to demo that thing. my fxr is fun and can handle some twisties, but nothing like the Buells i'm sure. i had a gsxr 1100 and and rz 350 back in the day... i miss carving up some turns like those bikes could.

This thread might help. He does have the bags and we will have to get some pictures to put up.

I love that bike! There was one on ebay last week that only had 400 miles and a set of aftermarket "cases" on it. It went for $10,700. I came very close to bidding on it. I saw one at Earl Smalls HD last weekend. It is a tall bike and I'm 6' 1". Hoping there are several out there used next year. Might be able to snatch one up for $9k or so.

Buell Ulysses

I Bought A Ulysses About 3 Months Ago. I Am 5'10" Tall, I Got The Shorter Seat For It Thinking I Would Like It Better. I Put The Stock Seat On After I Rode It For A While. The Bike Is So Well Balanced And The Center Of Gravity Is So Low Compaired To Other Bikes That I Dont Even Use The Shorter Seat. With The Stock Seat On And Both Feet On The Ground I Can Bearly Touch The Ground, But That Doesnt Bother Me At All.
I Live In The Black Hills Of South Dakota, This Bike Is The Best Bike I Have Ever Ridden!

I test rode one in November finally made a decision in January to add one to my garage and waiting for delivery sometime this month. I'm only 5'10" but have ridden tall dirt bikes in the past. Sure I can't flat foot it but it is very light and easy to manage. Has to be one of the most comfortable bikes I've ridden.

Definitley a comfy bike. I get to ride them every so often. Whenever a customer comes in to demo one, I talk em into demo-in another Buell(lightning usually, sometimes the firebolt), Ya know so they get the whole feel. Then I get to ride both. Unfortunatley, Buell customers are a bit few and far between, so I dont get out on them too much. But, very nice on the road, we've got a few bumps I steer ppl to, and a couple of nice turns where ya can lean it over a little. No off road yet, that'd be nice. I'm real anxious to get it off road but I dont ask cause I know they'll just my dreams.

I'm also 6'2" and I can swing my legs with a very minimal knee bend and not hit the ground. I dig that a lot.

Now for the good part: if anybody is in South Jersey, come on in to Barb's and ask for a demo ride on a Buell. I'd be happy ta take ya out, and we still have a couple slingbags cause our Demo Day got rained out. As of 05/08/2006 anyway.

Awesome Ride

I picked up my Uly just before Thanksgiving, and it's a great ride. Absolutely love the thing. I'm in the process of installing a GPS, and a couple of other accessories. Can't wait for spring and riding season to return!

Speaking of well balanced, I have a 29" inseam and feel comfortable holding the bike up with one foot on tiptoe...it's the best balanced motorcycle I've ever owned.

I can't describe how much fun that f'er is to ride! It's BONE STOCK & that thing will flat GET-IT! I've been riding Baggers for years and had myself convinced that my RG's handle like sportbikes.... well...... WAKEUP! That Buell corners better than anyhting I ever had ~ in 30+ years of riding!

FUN, FUN, FUN!!!!!

Ditto Phil, and I've ridden a lot of Harleys. My last bagger had high dollar suspension and over $1600 worth of brakes on the front end.......still not as good as any of my Buells.

Six months into my Ulysses and I'm sorry to say my Street Rod hardly gets a look in. Love this bike.

I have a 29 inch inseam also and had not considered these "tall" bikes before. How difficult is it to get comfortable riding a taller bike?
