Hopefully he'll have a couple production models that go for less than the $65K bike he currently sells.

Nitram_b4 is reading this now saying WTF is this?
More production, lower cost, when you produce 100 bikes in a model year, it is a bargain.
I see they sell parts for older Buells, that is great. I hope they take off

How about confining your political beliefs to the religion and politics section? There was no need for that extra jab at the president. This section is about Buell motorcycles, not politics and your political beliefs. Do you really think it would be appropriate for others to respond to your political statements in this section?

GE forked over the loan. GE CEO Jeff Immelt is in bed with Obama .
So if anything maybe retaining Obama, helped Buell
I hope Eric does good , and everyone one else that GE Loaned money to. Maybe my stock will go up.

Obama has nothing to do with it if anything he would run them out of business if he had a chance. GE plays ball so they get away with what ever they want.
Back to Mr Eric Buell I wish him the best and those that stayed working for him. His style bikes are not for me.
But when Obama is gone I may just buy one to ride now and then.

I just watched a program on Velocity Cable Channel that covered the new Buell bike.
I see the motor is not a Harley motor. It is a Water Cooled V-Twin and appeared to be a Japanese brand.

Rotax is actually an Austrian company making Hipo motors for everything from BMW's, KTM"s ... to Seadoos.

Correct, BRP Powertrain, they contract a lot of engine work. The Helicon 1125R is Erik's design and I believe is what he wanted the Revolution to be more like. 72 degrees , lighter and producing 146 HP!

....and I agree about the politics, not often I am really serious but arguing politics is a losing battle either way you side. Being we are only told what we are told, what they want us to know or not, sift thru all the rhetoric and then "chose" to believe half of that.............well, you get the point

Jeez, Mike. Don't be such a hypocrite. You drag your soapbox out at a moment's notice and on any stray whim. Of course, like any good lib, you only force your views on us for our own good.

Newbie here, but I've been a Buell fan since 85, and an owner and rider since '01...I'm quite sure that EriK Buell Racing, his new company will do quite nicely without the coprpate interference from the MoCo and their golfing CEO. The new bike is a wonder of modern engineering, the 1190RS motor was originally designed and built by Rotax, though now it's all done "in-house", and in stock form is reputed to be pushing 180 HP
:-)
The first 100 bikes were priced out of range of many folks, but that will be soon remedied with the new selection of bikes slated to appear this fall. There's no telling how far Erik can go with this new platform, and his freedom from oh-so-blind tradition...
