Do i belong here?

So technically i have a buell x1 lightning, but its a redneck engineering frame, tank, fender, and seat. is this the right place for me? I'm just wondering wha good/bad things people have to say about the X1 engine. Do they hold up well, maintainence hogs, do they have special needs?

Most issues I've had with the "tuber" Buells weren't related to the engines.

so the the only problems you know of are with the bike no longer actually being a buell, but a custom? The engine should be fine?

Sporty Motors rock. Hard to break, I have tried. Keep good oil in it, and a good cooler on it.

Buell engine, forks, wheels, brakes, it may not have the frame anymore, but *i* think its a Buell at heart.

Besides, its a V-Twin, so yes, you do belong.

I don't know myself. Yours is complete custom where mine is mostly Sportster with all Buell/Thunderstorm parts in the motor....Kinda/sorta Buell without the plastic body.

I have had a few people notice the black heads but other wise it is a sleeper in 883 garb.

So I guess we are Misfits...Isn't that how it all got started way back when

As mentioned in another board Buell owners are misfits from the start....the original 3%'ers.....(Buell is around 3% of HD's income stream)

Take pride in being a Buelligan!

Wero,
did you build that thing yourself? I am planning on doing the same thing this winter. I have a 2000 X1 in my garage that will be the donor. Planning on using an Atlas softail frame as soon as I pay for Xmas.
