Picking up a Buell

Bought a Buell finally. It's a '99 X1. I pick it up this Saturday. This should be a fun, cheap bike.

I picked this one up for $3400. New back tire, force winder intake, after market exhaust. I think I got a good deal, although I bought it sight unseen. I have been looking for a couple months now. I would expect to pay $4000 - $4500 for a '99 X1.

You are right, a good X1, or any of the "tuber" models should run in the mid 4000 price range.
The tubers were great bikes, i've got 2 '95's, a '98, and a '99. They are all fun bikes, and the sportster motor is easy to buy parts for.
The 99 models was the first year for fuel injection, and some had issues, one of the first upgrades most Buellers add to a FI bike is the race ECM.
Congrats on your new purchase! I'm sure you'll enjoy the hell out of it!
