I have a question about your system for FLH bikes. I have a 2005 Road King Classic FLHRCI.
Why for your complete kit do you go with a 12" extended when the stock system is 13"?
Do you have the same shock in chrome but is a 13"?
Thanks,
Bill

Thanks Frank. I will have to try calling sometime while at work. My problem at work is getting them to stop sending me calls during lunch

I just put a set of Bilstiens on my 06 flhx. The ride got worse, it feels like a ridge frame, please tell me what pressure to run for best ride.

I'm looking at getting a set. Have to save up the money first. Haven't decided on which set-up to go with. With pump or without.
What pressure did you have them at?

I started at 50 and then 25 and then about 8, the ride didn't get any better. I rode for two hrs. total. Took them off and put the stock shocks back on. Leave for Tail of the Dragon on Sunday, couldn't fool around.

WOW!!! 50 is a lot. I wonder if that damaged the shock and locked it in an out position? I run 25 in mine only when I ride two up.

I have an 07 EGC and want some advice - I need to lower at least an inch. Ride with passenger a lot and loaded - 2 up plus luggage about 500 pounds...
Current stock system at 15 PSI is very smooth - do not want to lose this
Want to ride at least 1" lower and be able to slam bike while stopped as low as possible for wife (short) to mount/dismount.
I am confused about Bilstein vs Aldan - Can I actually adjust ride height with the bilstiens or is it just smooshy below the top height.
Should I go 12" or 13" on an EGC? If I go 12" - will it be smooth and not bottom out loaded? What about Bilstein versus Aldan for this?
What do the Aldans give you for the extra cash?
Ed

I ride a 2006 egc (flhtci) and I am six foot six, also I ride two up all the time.
Can I get shocks with more range of compression, and a little taller in the rear would be nice.

You can get 13' shocks and that will give you a little more range, about another inch.

With a $300 difference in cost, is there any reason to choose the Aldan shock over the Bilstein shock?
Thanks,
Chuck

You are not running enough air. These shocks will take up to 100 psi. I run mine anywhere from 40 to 75 psi depending on the road conditions. I also have the onboard air compressor(the only way to go) so I can adjust on the go. By the way I do have a gauge installed to monitor the pressure.
