Ummm... why would you need an adapter? You'll need a short 50 Ohm coax jumper with PL-259s on each end. Disconnect the cable from the antenna (PL-259 connector), connect it to the transmitter side of the SWR meter, run the short coax from the antenna side of the meter to the antenna. You know there's a good impedance match on the radio end of the cable (or if there isn't, there isn't anything you can do about it) so all you're tuning is the antenna. It's not complicated.
