Installed Baisley spring-BIG DIFFERENCE!!!!!!

I installed my Baisley Spring this weekend and the bike still sounds like a typwritter. Don't have a gauge so no way for me to tell if the pressure increased by 5 lbs.
Question? Why do some get great results while others hear/see no difference?
