you can do it.....when I crammed mine into a older rigid, I used some wood 4x4's across as much of the bottom of the frame and a couple bottle jacks to get the top mounts/bolt holes to line up just right. you will have to go at least 1/2-1" past and let it settle a bit.
didnt make any difference the way the bike tracked,
