CB installation on RG

Oldog

I did mine last summer (2007 RG), all my pals had the CB/Intercom on their HD so I ordered all the stuff from my local HD store, something like $1400 CDN, way to much but the wife wanted it and it was safer and easier to stay connected with the group on the way and around Americade.

Can't remember all the names of the units but you must remove the front fairing, put a cloth of some sort on the front fender, remove the srews and unbolt the signal lights, lift and pull back the fairing cause it sits on a couple of hooks, unplug the lights. Fairing is off, screw in the CB radio module (76236-06) on top of the radio unit, plug in.

You'll need a console pod assembly (77136-03) to replace yours cause it doesn't have the headset plug-in. You'll have all of this and the instructions in the Advanced Audio Intercom Unit and Advanced Audio CB Radio Kit.
The one thing I didn't need was Left Handlebar Control Assembly, the stock one on the bike was OK. You'll aslo need two stereo Helmet Headset Kits (77147-91C & 77147-98). You also have to install and connect the CB antenna.
Make sure you plug in everything before you put the fairing back together. You might also need the Intercom Software Flash which the dealer does.
On my RG I don't have speakers in the back so I just made a bracket to hold the passenger Intercom plugin.

Its pretty straightforward, Yves
