Have you ever had a severe emergency, gotten to the emergency room and it was a code yellow (45 min to an hour wait time?) What is happening right now across the country is people who don't have insurance, and who can't afford 200 dollars for a doctor visit are hauling their butts into the E.R. in order to recieve treatments for everything from the flu to upset stomach. They go to the E.R. knowing full well that the bill will be high, but hey it's just a hospital bill, I don't have to pay that. If you don't believe it then go into your local E.R. one day and take a look around. You will see people bleeding, people with bones poking out, and people who's child is running around playing while they wait to be seen for a belly ache... Our medical system is messed up, but UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE is not the answer. I believe it will only further clog the system, it's already an act of congress to get a doctor to prescribe medications for pain, even if they can obviously see that you are in need, and if the government takes over, you will never be able to get any medication you need. There has to be a better way.
