When I got my 08 Ultra I just put on the Rush slipons with 2" baffles. It was fine, right up to the point the right one turned yellow from being too lean. It was fine the summer months, then in the fall when the air got cooler and heavier it became leaner and "taa daa" yellow. Glad it didn't hurt the engine as Harley probably wouldn't have covered it since it wasn't thier fault.
Some get away with it, some don't.
