First of all, if you are in the "original" configuration (no new air cleaner, no new pipe) then you would gain little by installing the tuner in my opinion. You could clean up how the bike runs, and it would run better, but probably not better enough to justify the cost of the tuner and having the bike tuned on a dyno. You can't even just run off the canned maps because they begin with at the least an air cleaner change.

Second, there is no reason to pay the stealer to install the tuner. Just read the instructions, stop if you don't understand something and post if you run into trouble. Someone almost always will help you through it.
