That makes sense that the passage was added for the B engine do the 2000 and later A engines have the additional boss in the casting to cover that hole in the cam plate? If so there would be three different twin cam cases. The original TC the TC A and the TC B . In my 02 service manual it shows exploded diagrams of both styles of cases with the added boss and with out.
