A friend down here has a 1994 FXLR and his only has a handlebar-mounted speedo. It does have a tank mounted fuel gauge. However, his bike is not stock. Among the mods along the way was a handlebar change. I would say it's possible that there never was a tach but I'll keep looking around. Did you ask the previous owner?
