I am currently doing that exact thing with my 08 ultra. It did drop the heat substantially and the performance was much better too. I have a set of Hooker tuned duals waiting for replacement heat shields that came damaged. When those arrive, I will install them and change the Fuelpak map to the one I got from V&H. It's a wonderful thing.
