I'm no expert and I admit I know very little about fuel management systems but my understanding is the IED's will help change the AFR during closed loop operation (only), thus lowering the engine temperature. Closed loop occurs during idle and "parade" mode (slow moving, stuck in traffic).
When the bike's rpms are above idle it goes into Open loop therefore the benefits of the IED's are not utilized. I think Stage 1 downloads and aftermarket fuel mgmt systems work during Open loop conditions, only. Therefore, Stage 1 downloads, etc., have no affect during Closed loop and will not address the AFR (lean fuel/heat condition).
Man my brain hurts...and I might be more confused than ever?!! Someone please correct me if I'm lost.
