V&H Told me to scrap the Fuelpak & get a Power Commander

I have an '07 Road Glide with Stock 96" ECM --- I'm going to install 103" SE BB kit (w/SE255 Cam) w/.030" head gaskets. Bike already has Hi Flow AC and V&H True Duals w/V&H Slash Cut Slip-ons and Fuelpak installed.

I looked on V&H website for map and saw some 2007 103" maps that said "SE Flat top pistons 9.3:1" -- what's with that? -- the only CR listed in the Harley Catalog for 103" flat top pistons with stock Heads is 10:1. If I calculate CR for .030 Head Gasket, I'm at about 10.34:1.

So I contacted V&H and (after initially saying they didn't have a map for increased CR) they eventually recommended map FP-1118. However, this map indicated a Stage 1 1690 ECU burn -- when I said I had a Stock 96" ECU, they said they couldn't help and I should buy a Power Commander and have it Dyno Tuned.

I bought the FuelPak based on V&H claims of easy tuning with maps available for most modifications. It seems to me that a 103" BB kit for a 96" is a pretty standard modification -- they didn't indicate that you'd have to spend $200 extra at the dealer to get the Stage 1 1690 ECU burn before you can use the Fuelpak. Now I need to sell this piece of crap and get a Power Commander (which I should have done initially).

The Fuelpak has good advertising, but you really need to look behind the smoke & mirrors to decide what's a good long term purchase. The fact that they don't (and won't) tell you what each setting does makes it totally useless as a self tuning device.
