Thanks for the input, guys. HDMD88, here are the numbers (I'll be glad to email you the dyno report if you like)
96 cid
SE stage 1
V&H 2-1
SERT
Base run max: 67.47hp, 82,11 torque
Best dyno run: 72.19hp, 84,64 torque
For comparison, my 04 Road King (injection) with 95 cid, 203 cams, SE high-flow air filter and SE 2-1 exhaust produced 80.06hp and 90.12 torque after being tuned by American Eagle H-D in Corinth, Tx.
With the map the dealership provided I noticed no hesitation in the throttle response, it was only after the dyno tune that this started to occur, on cold starts particularly (felt like a carbureted motor that hadn't been warmed up properly). I am interested in real world performance and drivability first and foremost so when I had the motor nearly stall on me several times, that could easily have resulted in a dropped bike. So I had the dealer (which is not H-D of Greenville) put the first map back in. Now everything is back to where it was and there's no hesitation at all.
Planning to have a 103 build done on the bike in the next couple of months which is really why I'm inquiring about good tuners in my area.
MM
