I stopped Sunday 2-18-07. I'm using the patch and it seems to be doing the trick. Yesterday I had the shakes in my hands, weird feeling...brought back memories. Today is much better. I've been wanting to quit for a long time and a neighbor convinced me to stop. He's dieing of lung cancer. 30 year smoker. Seeing him has really been messing with me and I don't want to end up like that. I went over to visit him and we were sitting there and he looks at me and says "I'm dieing from the damn things and a cigarette sounds so good". That's a testament to the addictive nature of tobacco.
Don't drink don't smoke what do ya do. Remember that song.

Congratulations on quitting. It took me 3 times to finally do it and the patch greatly helped. Like drinking, drugs or any addiction it gets easier with time. Nobody loved a cigarette more than me but I am going into my 9th year a non-smoker. Follow the patch all the way to the end even if you feel like you don't need it (about 3 months) and you will be fine. Best of luck.
