My opinion so far on the 100th
The dealers get an A for getting all the vendors they could. Most have the traffic well sorted out...well except for Hals..thats a nightmare getting out. The state fair deal is pretty good, but coulda been better.
The Club HOG deal is nice, its away from the city & traffic control is great. Both getting in & out is ez.
Harley gets a D-. Pilgrim rd sucked. 2+hr waits for tours. 2+ hr waits just to sign up for demo rides & then you had to wait a long time again for whatever bike you wanted. V-rods once again are by appt only.
Capitol drive plant is a pain to get to. Captiol drive is shut down so you have to come in the back way off 119th st. No cops directing traffic & huge backups are the norm. Wait in line forever to get in the plant.
According to the info there were supposed to be pins at all the plant tours, yet Franklin P&A ran out on wed, at least those were free. At Capitol you had to buy them?? $15...screw that.
The summerfest deal was kinda boring..better stuff to buy outside the gates. Soda was $3. Beer & Mikes lemonades going for $5. Gates open at 11 yet single day passes not sold till noon, whats the deal with that crap?
And then you have the fiasco down at the Harley experience & the party location. Traffic is as bad if not worse than anything I have seen at sturgis. This stuff should have been held at a proper venue like State fair park. Lots of parking & ez in & out. I feel very bad for the people who will be there tomorrow.
Thats about it, thumbs up to the local dealers, thumbs down to Harley. I really dont think they planned stuff out very well.
