Leaving Monday for Milwaukee. Hate the traffic around Chicago. Anyone plan a different route that might be a nicer ride? I don't mind riding longer, just hate the traffic.
I am riding up I-39 out of Bloomington,IL thru Rockford and picking up
I-43 in Beloit to Milwaukee. You would need to take I-74 all the way to Bloomington.I would avoid I-65 out of Indy to Gary/I-80 to I-39 if you expected to be at I-80 during any rush hour times.Potential nightmare on that stretch of road.I 80 looks far enuf away from Chicago but its really not.You will add a small amount of miles coming a little farther west before heading north but you might arrive with your sanity intact not to mention your scoot . Just my .02 Ride safe/have fun.

Thanks. Spent some time with a map and see what you mean. This route is about 150 miles longer, but seems like a much nicer ride. I've sat on I-80 before at a dead stop and it's no trip to the beach, not to mention going thru the city.
Guess I'll flip a coin as I roll out the driveway - faster? or nicer ride?
