Milwaukee ready for a Million Bike Party
I hopped on the scoot and took a ride up to Milwaukee yesterday to scope out the grounds for the party. While there is some construction and road work going on downtown, everything looks good for the party. Summerfest is going great guns and I think the lakefront facilities are in great shape.
I spoke to some Milwaukee bikers and they are very excited about the Party. We speculated about the size of the crowds and agreed that we feel it's going to be a Million Bike Party! Of course weather can hurt because Chicago bikers may not want to make the 85 mile one-way run if it storms. But if the weather is good... watch out... Chicagoland is brimming with bikers of all kinds! This could be the greatest party in history!!
Be there or be square!
Ride Safe!

I am getting close to being ready to go from Central Florida. Really looking forward to riding around where we used to live. Took August 20-Sept 6 off from work for this trip. I am sure it will be one of the bigger rallies anyone has ever seen.

I lived in Altamonte Springs for 12 years. I covered a lot of ground in Central Florida and attended a lot of Bike Week and Octoberfest parties. I think this one is going to blow them all away.
You are going to have an awesome ride home. What route are you taking?
Gosh I wish I were coming from Florida... If I were coming from Florida, I know where I would go. I would take a little detour and swing North from Atlanta and into North Carolina/Western Tennessee to hit Deals Gap, the Cherohala Skyway, and the Great Smoky Mountains Park then swing out west again to Knoxville and back up 75.
Riding the Tail of the Dragon would be a KILLER addition to a ride home to Milwaukee. A relatively short detour but some utterly cool riding to get ya in the mood for midwest partying!
I hope you have a terrific trip!!

Unfortunately for us the bikes are going to be on a trailer and we need to try to make Wisconsin as soon as we can. Our family is in the western part of the state and we have some commitments with them. I wish we had the resources to be able to ride this trip there and back. Unfortunately we don't . But as soon as we get there bikes are off the trailer and going to do some serious mileage. What ever made you leave Central Florida?

It was that old Yankee Dollar! I got a contract in Atlanta and went up there for a year and then I got a contract in Lisle and I have been here ever since. I was born in Chicago so it was a coming home for me.
Well have a wonderful time back home and enjoy the party!

Downtown is going to be 1 massive traffic jam. Traffic was real light last year as people stayed away in anticipation of this years event.
Was out in Sturgis in 2000 & reports then were 700,000 people & I believe it..totally nutz. If Milwaukee hits the estimated 1 million I really have no idea where they are all going to fit. Thank god I live 1/2 hr away & can just get out if it gets too packed.

LOL, I can do better than that. My daughter lives about 5 minutes away from state fair park. I already told her that I might be kicking her boyfriend out for the week so me & some buddies could be crashing there
