Decided that i may take the trip

I bought a ticket to the celebration, and i'm looking into traveling with the local hog chapter. Anyone planning on hooking up with the Northeast route?

meeting the Northeast route

There are a group of us coming up from VA hitting the route in Buffallo for the dealer party there. We are planning to follow the route into Michagin then breaking off and going up and around the lakes and coming into Millwaukee from the North.

Just a comment that following the shore of Lk Michigan around is gorgeous! Especially in the U.P. fyi... the center lane on the Mackinaw bridge is a metal grid. No real issues, but it'll float the front tire a bit, especially those skinny 21". Novice riders will feel more comfortable in the right lane - it's paved. Also - TONS... TONS... TONS of deer. Take lots of care all the time. Have a great ride!

That's our route....we're going straight up the belly of Indiana and then around Lake Mich till we get to Milwaukee....should be nice.

Make sure you take a side trip to Mackinac Island. No motor vehicles allowed, just feet, bikes and horses. And lots of fudge

Lightnin, here are the stops we're planning on the ride from VA. If you or any others would like to ride?

8/25 Buffalo for Dearborn
8/26 Dearborn to Traverse City
8/27 Traverse City to Escanaba
8/28 into Milwaukee

have not been able to find lodging in milwaukee yet and am looking for other solo or group with lodging that is looking for more to share expenses. my local hog chapters have no plans/reservations.
