Canuck Needs Advice

Greetings,

I am riding down from Northern Alberta in August to hit the 100th BD bash, and am looking for some headz up ideas for the ride.

Our first American stop is Minot SD, and then Devils Lake S S9ouds like a party place to me)... From Devils Lake, to St.Cloud Mn, and then LaCrosse WI...

What we are looking for are events, historical sites, parties, greasy spoons, biker friendly bars, etc, etc, etc along the way...

I would appreciate any help, or pointers in these areas along the ride to Milwaukee....

Also, we are staying in Lake Geneva WI, and from what I hear its not a bad place at all, adn we are looking forward to the ride... Any headz up in Lake Geneva area would be great as well....

Thanx in advance, and maybe Ill bump into some of you folks there....

If your in Minneapolis in the evening, stop by "The Joint". It's kind of "the" biker bar in the twin cities, with an outdoor bar and grill and bike only parking. It's right next to Whiskey (link below). If you want a scenic ride, follow the Mississippi River down (thru Hastings, Red Wing), then cut over to Milwaukee on 90. If you want speed, the faster route is to keep on the freeway (94) out of Mpls/St Paul. Have a good ride.

Dirty, Two places that are worth seeing between Lacrosse and Milwaukee . The badger ammo plant its 7300 acres and 1200 buildings, left over from ww 2 you can get off I-94 at hwy 12 its about 7 miles south of Baraboo, I don't know if they have tours or not but it is really weird seeing this huge industrial complex in the middle of rolling farm country, you can stay on 12 into Madison, its a college town and the state capital, there are a lot of trendy coffee shops and ethnic food places around the capital building, there is also State street, college party area , thats why they call it mad city. Stay on I-94 east towards Milwaukee and get off on hwy 83 Delafield, there is a good pizza place, Martys just south of the freeway. Take hwy 83 north to 167 about 10 miles and on your right will be see Holy Hill very cool church built up on a big hill, worth seeing the Church and climbing the tower, you can see Milwaukee on a clear day. Go east on 167 till hwy 41/45 go south and you will come to The Pilgrim road exit the tc 88 Harley plant is on the east side of the express way, a little futher down 41 is the Capital drive plant on the west side. Its about an hour or so to Lake Geneva fron there. Rickpoco
