Milwaukee
I am going to Milwaukee on the V-Rod and bringing my girlfriend on her first rally. Should be a good time.
This isn't my first HOG rally, but it will be the biggest. My question is how will I know what to do with so many people and so much going on? I would think things are going to be spread out all over Milwaukee. The HOG folks will have some sort of handouts to read, but where are the hot spots and where should people hang out?
Later,

The wife and I will be there also. Do what we will end up doing, just ask people If I want to know anything, I will look for a person that looks like he/she may know what the hell is going on I think we will get into town on the 26th, I think We are going to leave for home on that Sunday or Monday, just not sure yet If you do not like big crowds of people, then I think you better stay home

Just a thought, bruzer, maybe you should take the girlfriend to a rally or event or two before you take her to the 100th????
Maybe, now give this some thought, she might like some experience with the motorcycling world before you thrust her into a situation with hundreds of thousands of bikers????
'sorry about being a bit sarcastic but think about it. The 100th is months away. You SHOULD expose her to the experience before dragging her to a huge event. AND, has she been on a bike for hundreds of miles? She will need to get some practice/experience in before you decide she has sit sit on your bike for a long trip.
Start getting her involved in the experience as soon as you can ride again. Talk to her and post again AFTER you've spoken with her.
My girl Leece (huckelberry1) says your girl will much appreciate this. (Warning: she'll have a chance to PLAN her shopping spree. Truthfully, she'll be able to shop better after attending a few rallies/events. You will actually save money.)

Very good advice Jim.
Bruzer, the Wi. H.O.G. rally is in June. June 20 through the 22nd, you could go to that one and see if the rally thing is for you. It is in Black River, Wi. I think we will be going. Opps, I see you said that this is not your first rally, I just did not want to edit, I need to work on my typing skills

National ave.(walkers point area) will have block partys as well as I believe it was Brady st. had a block party.
During the 95th the offical party was at the summerfest grounds, but the real party from what I understand was a veterans park.
Is there anything in particular you looking to do?

Seriously...Do you guys think the 100th will be the party to hit this year, or just another H-D corporate event. I was gonna hit Sturgis for my first time this year, but I'm startin' to think maybe this year should be Milwaukee, and hold off on Sturgis 'til 2004. Unfortunately, I doubt I can swing both this year. I have to say, though, I was pretty disappointed in Harley's 100th Road Tour stop in Los Angeles.

Ok, here is my take on the thing. I have a 2003 Harley, so it was a no brainer for me to go You will only see the 100th party once in your life. You can always go to Sturgis. I plan on Sturgis in 2004 but the party is the place to be this year How come you think the party was after the Sturgis event, cause Harley wanted it that way I may be all wet here but I am going to make a pridiction(sp) The 100th party is going to be double what Sturgis is What is every one elses take on it?
We called our hotel today in Fondulack(sp), they still have a few rooms left

Alote of us here in OHio are getting together and watch it all on the Big Screen TV... May even pull the TV out to the backyard and set on the bikes to watch.... at least we'll be saving some gas and motel rooms.... but sure will miss the real thing.

I'm planning on taking a small crew to ride up there....so far 3 bikes.....my brother and his gal on his 73 FLH, a buddy of his on his bagger, and my 03 1200 custom. Always good to have a bagger along to carry miscelleneous stuff....since we don't have a cage following us. We're having trouble finding somewhere to stay that's remotely close to Milwaukee....so we might have to take along a bedroll for each of us.
We go to only one monster gathering a year...the rest are smaller. I plan on going to the 100th and the Midwest Boogie. Sturgis and Daytona will have to wait a year or two. There's only one 100th anniversary party so cororate or not, I want to experience it.

......just south of the border in Ill. I plan on going but pretty much day trips for us. I have to agree, even though its a MOCO event, the 100th is a one time experience. For me, gotta do at least one day.

100th is a corporate money maker at it's best. Harley has robbed anyone who would fall for the romantic notion of "there will only be one 100th" So what? The 100th bikes aren't that special and definitely not the sought after collectors's pieces everyone predicted. A look at the unsold bikes in the showrooms proves that. I hear you guys saying " I want to experience it" Experience what? Sure Harley's celebrating, but instead of making it's customers pay thru the teeth to celebrate an anniversary that is that is only possible because of loyal customers, they should be giving something back to the people who made them last 100 years.

i'm not buying any tickets to the 100th but i'm still going to be in milwaukee. there will be plenty to do there without just going to the "official" places. if you don't have tickets you can still go to milwaukee and have fun. check this link to the milwakee journal sentinal www.jsonline.com/onwisconsin/event/harley.asp
